Proper Food Combination

Proper food combining, what is and why should you start to pay attention to how you combine your food?

Let’s start a little further back to get some perspective.


If you remember grade 9 science you know that there are 2 sides to chemistry.


ACIDS AND BASES. When we begin to talk about acids and bases, we start discussing PH, but instead of a science experiment, we will look at the body's PH.

The blood in our body is a 7.4ph (alkaline), if you are higher or lower that causes death. It would only make sense then that the body functions best when all lymph and tissues are the same alkalinity as the blood.


  • Human Disease is rooted in the acidosis of the body

  • Dis-ease is simply a lack of ease and flow in the body

  • Acidosis causes: Inflammation, tissue destruction, stagnant lymph, and blockages

  • Alkalinity is hydrating and healing; cleanses your tissues and cells and restores electrolyte balance

  • Nature loves a negative charge, which is alkaline

  • The lining of the walls and the cells of the vascular tree are alkaline

  • High Acid diets run the risk of acidifying the lining and cell walls causing damage to the tissues and the cells


PH controls everything from digestion to absorption to assimilation to methylation.


When Methylation is going well the process helps repair your DNA, regulates your hormones, produces energy, protects against cancer, supports detoxification, keeps your immune system healthy, supports the protective coating along your nerves, and strengthens the nervous system.




Now we can see just how important the ph of the body is for function and for health.

What are the most alkaline foods? Would it surprise you to know that FRUIT is the most alkaline choice for your body, but it also has the highest source of energy?


Benefits of Fruit


  • Fruit provides electrolytes, flavonoids, minerals, and vitamins

  • they are astringent, cleansing, hydrating, nourishing, and nutritious

  • they bring electromagnetic energy to our biochemistry and design

  • Our body effortlessly knows what to do with this highly conscious food source


Benefits of Veggies

  • Vegetables would be right behind fruits as far as alkalinity

  • They are electromagnetically lower than fruits so it makes them heavy and more filling

  • They are dense in chemistry, meaning that they digest harder within our biochemistry and keep us full longer

  • Vegetables are great for opening up the gateway to the high life force of fruits

  • Vegetables are builders, and great for muscles and skeletal tissue.


Now let’s put this information to use and start to examine proper food combinations.


 

Food Combining Principles


DO NOT COMBINE PROTEINS AND STARCHES

  • Most damaging food combination

  • It takes acid digestive juices to digest protein (HCL, pepsin)

  • It takes alkaline digestive juices to digest starch (ptyalin)

When they are combined they neutralize and cancel each other out, then minimal digestion occurs. Therefore, putrification happens, which causes fungal overgrowth

  • Avocados combine with starchy veggies and grains

  • Beans and grains are both acids so they can combine fairly well



Eat Fruit Alone


DO NOT COMBINE WITH STARCH


  • Fruit digests the fastest.

  • Eat fruits first and fruits alone

  • Fruits digest with the saliva in the mouth and leave the stomach quickly

  • Starches require most of their digestion time in the mouth and stomach

  • Fruit sugars are quickly absorbed into the intestines while starch requires digestion in the mouth and stomach

  • If the fruit sugars are held up in the stomach while the starch continues to digest the food will putrify or decay in the system


DO NOT COMBINE WITH PROTEIN


  • Fruit sugars leave the stomach quickly and directly absorbs into the intestine

  • Protein requires high acid and hours to break down

  • Fruit sugar combined with protein will cause putrification in turn causing gas, bloating, belching


DO NOT COMBINE WITH VEGETABLES


  • Fruits are cleansers and veggies are builders

  • Tomatoes, cucumbers, avocados, and peppers are fruit veggies and are the exception to this and can be eaten with veggies, proteins, and starches


Eat Melons alone or Leave them alone


  • Eat Melons with no other food

  • They are in their simplest form and require no digestion at all in the stomach

  • If they are held up in the stomach while digesting anything else they will putrefy



Acid fruits don't combine with sweet fruits


  • These foods repel each other

  • Their chemistry is not compatible eg. bananas and grapefruit


Simplicity is always best


  • Do not mix more than 5 fruits or vegetables at a time

  • mono fruit is the best for detoxification

Our ability to digest our food depends, in part, on not overloading the digestive tract, just like you can’t pay attention to 10 things at one time. Your body digests food so much better when it is only digests one or 2 items at a time.

DON’T DRINK WITH YOUR MEALS IT NEUTRALISES THE STOMACH ACID AND INTERRUPTS YOUR DIGESTION


There you have it proper food combining and a bit of a science lesson all rolled into one. Try putting some of these principles to test, even if it is just eating fruit alone and see if your digestion improves. I personally eat fruit until at leat noon every day and most days until 4pm.
